ELECTRODIVE VKS8000
SOFT STARTER

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Electrodrive VKS8000 is a motor soft starter that provides controlled acceleration and deceleration for three-phase induction motors from 11 kW to 500 kW. By ramping voltage at start-up it reduces inrush current and the mechanical stress of direct-on-line starting, then switches to a built-in bypass contactor for high-efficiency running at full speed. It is a fixed-speed device — it does not vary motor speed, and offers no speed regulation, PID or energy savings from speed reduction. Where variable speed or process control is required, the Electrodrive ES580 VSD is the correct choice.

Designed for Continuous Operation

Built for continuous industrial duty. Once the motor reaches full speed, a built-in bypass contactor carries the running current and the thyristors sit inactive, keeping the unit cool and efficient over long duty cycles. Available as a loose unit (IP20) for panel building, or as a factory IP55 built-in cabinet for dust- and spray-exposed environments.

Why it matters:

✓ Dust protection

✓ Water ingress protection

✓ Suitable for standard environments

✓ Long service life

Smooth Starting for Demanding Applications

Five start modes and three stop modes let the starting profile be matched to the load — a high-inertia fan, a centrifugal pump, or a loaded conveyor.

Reduced Starting Current

Voltage-ramp and current-limit starting bring the motor up smoothly, cutting the inrush and voltage dip of direct-on-line starting and reducing stress on the supply.

Simple Operation.png

Easy communication

Built-in RS-485 Modbus RTU for full remote control and monitoring, plus two programmable relay outputs with 13 selectable functions.
